SnowRunner, the ultimate off-roading experience and bigger, better sequel to MudRunner, is available for pre-order on Xbox One today from the Microsoft Store.
SnowRunner is about three things: big trucks, tough roads, and combining the two for the most fun possible. Today we want to introduce you to all the customization options available for your massive selection of heavy vehicles in which you’ll conquer the wilderness – and likely smash a few pieces off along the way.
Gameplay customization comes in a few key areas – your engine, gearbox, suspension, tires, and which frame add-ons you have access to. Slamming a 30-tonner up a harsh incline in a blinding snowstorm? Cram the engine with horsepower and pray to whichever trucking god you believe can save you. If you need maneuverability over rocky terrain or through the deepest mud – returning from MudRunner with even more sticky thickness – a suspension or gearbox upgrades may be in the cards.
Frame add-ons are more focused on special tasks, such as conducting repairs or carrying extra fuel, all the way up to huge flatbeds and cranes. Specific equipment is also available for the likes of finding oil out in the great expanse. How you equip yourself will be as much determined by your goals as the terrain.
The other side of this is visual
customization. Nobody wants an ugly truck before
it’s covered in mud, grit, snow, hit by trees, dunked in the water, and done a
few full rotations down the side of a steep slope. Choosing a colour scheme and
pattern is one thing, but fully making it your own is another. Bumpers, rims,
exhausts, fenders, lights – there’s a whole lot of truck to play with.
Unlocking all this, through the money and xp you earn from missions and
exploration, is just another part of the fun.
SnowRunner is ready to ride on April 28 and you can pre-order today from the Microsoft Store to receive an exclusive tractor, the Navistar 5000-MV, upon release. For more info and some sexy, sexy trucks, take a look at our visual customization video above.
