Hey Survivors!

The undead apocalypse returns to devour your flesh in Outbreak: Endless Nightmares, the world’s first retro survival horror roguelike. Experience the horrors through classic fixed camera, over the shoulder or first-person views as you and your fellow survivors fight for your lives in semi-procedurally generated nightmares. After awaking in a deserted medical college transformed into a triage center, you’ll need to explore the mysterious surroundings and find clues to understand the strange anomalies occurring around you. Survival is entirely dependent on how you level up your survivor and manage your limited resources. And don’t forget to bring a fellow survivor along in local split screen co-op, playable across the entire game!

Survival horror is all about making the player feel threatened, and there’s nothing more threatening than unpredictability. Outbreak: Endless Nightmares takes this to the next level by merging a semi-procedurally generated dungeon crawl with retro survival horror gameplay like intense resource management, solving puzzles and fighting off horrible monstrosities. After selecting your survivor, you’ll need to scrounge for any supplies you can find before facing off against the anomalies, each of which transports you to a horrific and challenging ethereal realm.

You never know what you’ll find in these realms as the puzzles, traps, enemies and equipment are all dynamic, meaning you’ll never experience the same set together again. Sometimes fate will favor you with powerful equipment, and other times you’ll be swarmed with crushing enemies and devious traps as you flee for your life. Over time, you’ll find safe areas where you can recover, manage your inventory and determine if you want to fight deeper into the anomaly or return to the safety of the hub world. But, if you are killed in these anomalies, you’ll be transported back to the hub world, and may be missing some key equipment that you desperately needed.

Outbreak: Endless Nightmares marks a transformative point in the series. Developed over the last year and a half, this title was built from the ground up based on fan feedback from prior titles. You’ll find significantly improved mo-cap animations across the game, all new next generation visual effects and a tremendous amount of gameplay polish across the entire experience. On Xbox Series X, you can experience this entire nightmare in beautiful 4K with your choice of prioritizing framerate or real-time shadows and other graphics. The nightmare has never been more gorgeous, and the next generation Xbox Series X|S hardware is the best place to play.

You’re in complete control on how you view the apocalypse – fixed camera, over the shoulder or in first person. Outbreak: Endless Nightmares marks the first time in the series history that allows you to customize and select your camera preferences.

If you’re a fan of old-school ’90s survival horror, you’ll find a lot to love with fixed camera angles. For fans of ’00s survival horror, you’ll be right at home with a customizable over-the-shoulder view. And if you want to get up close and personal, first person view brings the shooter experience alive. You can change your camera in real-time during gameplay – and even enter a free look camera mode to survey your surroundings and snap some great photos!

There’s plenty more for you to discover in this nightmare. Six playable characters to level up, each with their own unique abilities. A deep loot system where weapons, ammo and health all have different levels and properties. Robust crafting options where you can find and combine gunpowder to build new ammo types, as well as construct new healing items. And much more, including New Game+ all the way up to +5 as you keep facing greater challenges.

Survival horror lives with Outbreak: Endless Nightmares. Available now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S with Smart Delivery support. Good luck surviving!

Outbreak: Endless Nightmares twists the series' survival horror gameplay by adding elements of roguelike gameplay. You'll need to explore, hunt for supplies, uncover clues, and fight your way through each anomaly – each consisting of semi-procedurally generated instances where both the environment, and the undead, are out to kill you! Immediately after the events of Outbreak: The Nightmare Chronicles, you find yourself trapped within the remains of Arzt Memorial Hospital – the hub to organize your inventory and storage cache, level up your character, or just to take a breather before venturing back out into the chaos. There’s more to discover in the world besides murderous hordes of the undead – find the journals scattered about to learn more about the outbreak and ultimately where to find refuge! Don’t think death can save you – every time you die, you'll awake trapped in this nexus. Outbreak: Endless Nightmares focuses on extreme replayability by offering multiple character options – each with their own abilities, upgrade paths and more! Each time you venture into the anomaly, it’ll change and become increasingly difficult as you grow in power. You'll need to think carefully about what weapons, healing items, and other supplies you'll bring along. If you're lucky, you may find storage caches that give you access to your expanded inventory, and offer an opportunity to restock. But it's all on you to search your environment for supplies. If you run out … your fate is sealed!
