NASCAR Heat 5 launches today on Xbox One! A key focus for us this year in the development of NASCAR Heat 5 was to provide expanded and more immersive gameplay, as well as replay-ability along with several quality of life improvements that I’ll share more with you today. So, let’s get started!
Expanded Career Mode
We wanted to improve the sense of immersion and development throughout the Career Mode in NASCAR Heat 5 so we added Statistics. These feature items such as seasonal Starts, Poles, Wins, Laps Led, Average Finish and final Rank on a year-to-year basis broken down for both yourself as well as the AI within the career. It helps create individual storylines and get to relive highlights of your illustrious career.
We have retained the ability to start your career from any of the NASCAR National Touring series, be it the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series or NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series. The Xtreme Dirt Tour returns as your pathway to NASCAR stardom if you’re looking for the challenge of running as a driver with no background or experience as well. DNF’s (Did Not Finish) have been incorporated to provide an elevated point of gameplay. This will give you a little more incentive to race cleanly and maybe not make that divebomb move for fear of wrecking yourself out of the race!
Online Challenges
Fans love the offline challenges that come with the game and we then update and further implement through DLC. This year, NASCAR Heat 5 expands that into online leaderboards to enhance your online experience outside of just race lobbies and give you bragging rights over not just your friends but the entire community!
These challenges will be based on your assists level and grade your overall time to place you on the leaderboard amongst other drivers completing the same challenge. Complete it the quickest, and you’ll see your name at the top. We plan to take real life events as well completely fictional scenarios and implement them into this new mode to give you variety and allow you relive some of the most impactful moments of the 2020 NASCAR season.
Custom Championships
One of our less notable, yet quickly loved features is the new Custom Championships. In NASCAR Heat 4 we provided fantasy schedules along with real life schedules in the Championship mode. In NASCAR Heat 5, you get to direct the schedule of events, dependent on the series you choose to race in.
There are many ways to race and you have all the options, including reduced or full playoff formats similar to the top three national NASCAR touring series, or no playoffs at all. You select whether you want a 36-race schedule or a short five race sprint. This is your area to create what you think is the ultimate NASCAR schedule.
NASCAR Heat 5 is available today for Xbox One on the Microsoft Store.
