Project Warlock is riddled with secret areas hidden throughout the game. Discovering them all can prove to be a crucial edge you gain over the enemies of mankind. These concealed rooms can provide you with much needed ammo for your guns, potions to help you rejuvenate quickly and gain back your mana, but most importantly experience points to help you level up quicker! Some even contain easter eggs that are sure to bring a smile to the faces of seasoned FPS veterans.
On the hunt for secrets
Many of these areas are just waiting to be discovered by accidentally blowing up a wall and revealing the treasures inside. Some hidden doors need to be activated manually by getting close and pressing the “Use” button. Look out for anything out of the ordinary when blasting through the dungeons of the game.
Every level indicates the number of secrets awaiting your discovery, so pay close attention and don’t let any slip away!
The perfect build for your playstyle
Take advantage of Project Warlock’s character customization mechanics! Each time you return to the Workshop between stages of the game, you can spend your hard-earned upgrade points on your weapons and unlock perks for your character. Make sure your skills and guns match your playstyle!
If you enjoy getting up close and personal with the demons and monsters, invest in your Strength stat to maximise the damage done with melee weapons and consider perks that boost that even more!
For all the demolitions experts out there – make sure to upgrade your throwables and launchers, and don’t forget to unlock the perks that are sure to bring out even more power in the explosions you cause.
Achieving the retro look

In the process of developing the game, besides putting lots of effort into the game, we made sure the way it looks also stays true to the games we drew inspiration from. If you dive into the game’s options, you’ll see all sorts of cool shaders and filters. You can customize the color range or distortion to make it resemble the beloved shooters of the 90s even more!
To make sure your experience is the most authentic, consider dusting off the old CRT monitor from the attic!
Memorise your environment and plan ahead
Staying alive isn’t as easy as one might think. When you’re down on your luck and the health bar is dropping unnervingly low, it’s important to remember when did you last see that pesky health potion lying around. Sometimes it’s worth not picking everything up straight away, as it might come in handy more in the future. Same thing goes for ammo boxes – you’ll want to remember the last time you saw a shotgun slug when you’re being chased through dungeons and caves by ancient evils bent on your annihilation. That slug might save your life!
Warlock’s tactics
You will quickly find that as fun as it is, going in guns-blazing is not always the best course of action. Some situations will require a little bit more finesse and a tactical approach.
First of all, always stay on your toes – enemies are lurking behind every corner, so don’t let your guard down! Expect an avalanche of fangs, claws and bullets to rain down on you behind every door and in every room.
Remember to keep moving – it’s more difficult to hit a target that stays in motion. Especially if you keep circling your foes and change directions often! If you find yourself in an open arena, it’s easy to forget about checking your surroundings, which can often be a fatal mistake. If you only focus on the enemies, you could quickly find yourself in a corner, surrounded and outnumbered. Of course, as a skilled Warlock, you can try and get out of those situations too, but it might be a tight squeeze.
When expecting a firefight in closed spaces, such as corridors, pick your tools carefully! Some weapons can penetrate multiple foes. Line them up nicely, and let loose a destructive bolt through the guts of several enemies at once!
