When the pandemic hit, Oskar Stålberg (who worked on another Raw Fury title, Bad North) hit the keys and brought to life one of the most charming titles (we’re definitely #notbiased) to come out this year — Townscaper!
Townscaper is more like a toy than a game. By using a grid situated over a serene sea, each click seamlessly creates structures both large and small. Combining buildings will allow you, beautiful builders, to create quiet hamlets or sweeping cathedrals, lighthouses, or soaring sky-cities.
Townscaper‘s accessible gameplay can be easily enjoyed by all with its simple controls, no time limit pressure, and an underlying algorithm that allows players to intuitively create their dream ocean-side town with only a few button presses.
The uses of Townscaper extend past its original intent as a relaxing, meditative experience. Folks from around the internet are using Townscaper in the most ingenious ways to create brand new works of art! We’ve got a few faves, but you can find lots more by searching #Townscaper on Twitter
To top it all off, those with access to a 3D printer will love that you now have the ability to export models straight from the game (texture maps and all) to print at home! From fan comics, art projects, and even tabletop RPG map generation, Townscaper is finding its home all over the internet and beyond!
The Townscaper community has already blown us away with their creations which we’ve started sharing on the Raw Fury Twitter each week for those that tag us in their social post!
What are you doing still reading this — Go grab your controller and get building already!
