Nothing says summer like a music festival, and we’re beyond excited to kick off our very own in The Sims 4 for the first time ever. Music has always been a huge part of The Sims experience. From the iconic soft jazz you hear while building your dream house, to Katy Perry’s The Sims 3 “Sweet Treats” collab, even if you’ve never played the game, you’ve probably heard (at least!) one of the nearly 500 artists The Sims has worked with to record their hit songs in Simlish, the game’s storied language.
Simlish is the expression of emotion rather than ideas, so the translation to Simlish is fun and often super recognizable because the artist gets to focus on the emotion and story of their songs, rather than the words. So to take our love for Simlish music covers of our favorite songs one step further and bring our players together for one big event, today we’re kicking off Sims Sessions, an in-game musical festival headlined by some of our favorite artists right now: Bebe Rexha (cannot stop listening to “Sabotage!”), Joy Oladokun (did you catch her performance on Colbert last week?!), and Dave Bayley, lead singer for Glass Animals (peanut butter vibes for life).
Starting today and running through July 7, join us for this limited time event and get the full festival experience – camp out, put together your favorite fashion lewks, and shop exclusive merch just for the event. Then, of course, proceed to rock out to Glass Animals’ Billboard-charting single “Heat Waves,” Joy’s powerful ballad “Breathe Again,” and Bebe Rexha’s “Sabotage.”
After the show you can hit the festival stage and put on a show of your own! I don’t want to reveal too much more because we want this to be full of surprises, but the best part about all of this is that all you need is the game to participate – no expansion packs necessary – and it’s completely free if you already have the game. And if you don’t, it’s on sale now for only $6, 85% off elsewhere, and EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can play The Sims 4 now with their membership.
Lastly, make sure to hop on TikTok and follow @TheSims and @BebeRexha. There’s an incredible #SimsSessions challenge happening right now where you can try your hand and side-by-side Simlish karaoke duets of Sabotage. Bebe’s going to pick her favorites to re-post (though sadly I don’t think I’ll be one of them).
Sul Sul, Simmers!
