Hello, Marvel fans!
Kate Bishop is now playable in the Marvel’s Avengers Operation: Kate Bishop – Taking AIM, which continues the story from where we last left off with Kamala at the conclusion of the game.
For those who don’t know Kate Bishop, she first appeared in “Young Avengers (2005) #1” before starring in her own series “Hawkeye (2016) #1”. A clever and snarky archer, Kate would eventually take on the Hawkeye mantle and be trained by Clint Barton. She would later star alongside Clint in the “My Life as a Weapon” series by Matt Fraction and David Aja, which we were inspired by our version of Kate.
In Marvel’s Avengers, you’ll meet Kate as she’s searching for her former mentor, Clint Barton, in her own story operation, Marvel’s Avengers Operation: Kate Bishop – Taking AIM. She joins the Avengers to get to the bottom of the mystery and save a world that doesn’t know it’s in peril. After Kate’s story comes Clint’s story, both of which are intertwined with each other and each pieces of a larger puzzle. You’ll be able to play Clint Barton in early 2021 in Marvel’s Avengers: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect!
When we were designing Kate’s kit, it was important to us that we balance the similarities between her and Clint with her stylistic differences. She learned much of what she knows from Hawkeye, so we wanted that to be reflected in her abilities, but it was just as important for her to have her own Heroics, Intrinsics, and Takedowns.
As a master archer, Kate has multiple arrow types that you can switch between at will depending on what the situation calls for: Razor Arrows for quick sniping, Scatter Shot Arrows for crowd control, Explosive Arrows for staggering, and Smokescreen Arrows to increase stuns. She’s also deadly proficient with a sword to deal with enemies who get too close. With repurposed AIM technology, she’s able to teleport around the battlefield using Intrinsic Energy.
Decoy is Kate’s Support Heroic: It spawns a hologram replica of her that shoots arrows of quantum energy at targets to distract them. Her Assault Heroic, Warp Arrow, allows her to teleport over long distances while triggering a large quantum explosion that lifts enemies into the air on her arrival. Quantum Overdrive is her Ultimate Heroic, which provides unlimited Intrinsic Energy, empowering her bow so she can fire quantum energy arrows to really shake up the fight.
We’re looking forward to seeing how you play Kate! Thank you so much for all your continued feedback as we work to improve Marvel’s Avengers.
