Arriving as part of the upcoming Greymoor chapter, the Antiquities system gives you the opportunity to join the Antiquarian Circle, an archaeological society based in the city of Solitude. After you’ve joined this organization (and completed a few introductory tasks), you can journey all over Tamriel in search of its hidden lore and long-forgotten treasures.
Antiquities features two new minigames and skill lines for you to master. Scrying, which allows you to uncover the location of certain antiquities, and Excavation, which allows you to dig them up! These two new activities are designed to be fun, puzzled-based games that see you traveling all over the continent (and in some cases, beyond) to complete. As you complete these two activities, you can level up their skill lines, potentially unlocking new abilities and upgrades.
Of course, you wouldn’t journey all over Tamriel if there weren’t some unique rewards to be unlocked, too, and as you play this new system, you’ll uncover unique collectibles such as furnishings, styles, emotes, new siege weapons for PvP, a new type of mythic gear, and a veritable treasure trove of valuables. In addition to this, you can also discover new lore and knowledge related to that specific antiquity or zone. There’s a ton of unique Antiquities-specific rewards, meaning there’s bound to be something you’ll want to dig up!
No matter how you play, the new Antiquities system brings fun new minigames and rewards for you to enjoy the next time you log into ESO. Keep at it, and you’ll event earn the highly respected title of Master Historian—Tamriel’s hidden histories await!
The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor arrives June 9 for Xbox One. This new Chapter in the Elder Scrolls saga is part of the Dark Heart of Skyrim, a year-long adventure that began in March with the Harrowstorm DLC and continues throughout all of 2020.
