If you’re having trouble finding a Fortnite match right now, it’s not your fault. Developer Epic has brought down the game’s servers for „emergency maintenance.“ It sounds potentially serious, as Epic said it has no ETA for when the servers will come back up.
„We apologise for this inconvenience,“ Epic said in a tweet.
We’re bringing the servers offline for emergency maintenance. We apologize for this inconvenience. We currently have no ETA on when servers will be back up. Stay updated with our status page here: https://t.co/3y0X6buriO

It has been a rough day for Fortnite. Before bringing down the servers completely, Epic acknowledged Fortnite was facing issues that prevented some from logging in. Additionally, matchmaking was „degraded“ due to the account issues. These issues and others are detailed on Epic’s Status page.
The server downtime comes at a very unfortunate time for Fortnite, as the game’s latest big update was just released. Among other things, it added a new, potentially game-changing item in the form of the Port-a-Fort, which creates a fort for protection in a matter of seconds. You can see the full patch notes here.
