Inspired by the best-selling novel “Metro 2035” by Dmitry Glukhovsky, the world of Metro Exodus takes place in the wake of a nuclear apocalypse, where survivors try to eke out a daily existence in the metro system of Moscow, Russia. With its blend of RPG elements and tense shooter gameplay, the series has come to be known as one of the most atmospheric experiences in gaming.
This evening we got our latest look at the next explosive chapter of the series during The Game Awards, showcasing more of that atmospheric world we’ve grown to love thanks to its predecessors Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light.
In Metro Exodus, you must flee the metro and lead a band of rangers on an incredible, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the east. With the promise to explore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line, we can’t wait to get our hands on this epic game.
We’ll have more details to share on Metro Exodus in the coming year, so keep it tuned to Xbox Wire.
