If you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past month, you may have missed Fortnite: Battle Royale‘s takeover of the world, becoming the most popular video game, right now.
Fans just can’t get enough of it, but soon, it looks like a big change is coming which could make the hit game even more exciting.
This is because meteors have been falling and a huge one is heading for Tilted Towers, the most populated city in the game.
If you look up into the sky right now while playing Battle Royale, it’s likely you’ll see some rather large shooting stars, which were first spotted a few days ago.
Starting off small and hard to spot, they’ve been growing rapidly in size and frequency, coming closer to the ground.
Fan blog Fortnite Intel believes eventually, this shower of stars will lead to a meteorite destroying Tilted Towers:
The Tilted Towers destruction theory started out simply with the sighting of a comet in Fortnite’s sky which has grown in size over the past few weeks. This has transformed, however, into something much bigger.
A few days ago, players started spotting small ‘shooting stars’ in the sky.
As of today, April 18, the date which many expected the comet to hit Tilted Towers, many meteors on a much larger scale have started to appear.
Aiming at the comet causes a strange sound to occur.
Many gamers believe the meteorite will wrap up season three, which is scheduled to end April 30 (in Fortnite time is measured in seasons which each last around three months).
If Tilted Towers is destroyed, it’ll drastically change the map, ready for season four.
Fans have been taking to Twitter to discuss what this could potentially mean for the future of the game:
It would make sense for creators Epic Games to destroy the location as according to one Fortnite player, both they and fans detest it because it ‘removes the flow of the game’.

Firstly, most of us hate it! It removes the flow of the game, it is the location in the centre, so the storm will mostly be near it, which means Tilted Towers gets loads of people.
Nowadays, nobody lands near to Greasy Grove, Lucky Landing, Haunted Hills, and the original Wailing Woods and Lonely Lodge; Tilted Towers is why. And Epic Games hate it as well.
The same user pointed out, the recent added set of telescopes are all aimed at the comet, which all but confirms players should be looking up to the sky.

Also, they have recently added telescopes, they face to the comet, which means it is going to have some connection with the removal of Tilted Towers.
If you want to see these telescopes go to the mountains, it is like a solar eclipse in Fortnite!
