The Triton Respirator lets humans breathe underwater without an oxygen tank, as they simply need to bite down on its plastic mouthpiece and let the gill-like arms on the sides of the scuba mask do the rest. Simply put, there are small holes in the material where water is sucked into the inner chambers, which then separate the hydrogen from the oxygen and release it, passing on breathable air. The filtered oxygen is compressed into a micro-compressor powered by a micro battery – 30-times smaller than current batteries.
